At this time the plan is that the Buffalo PBS WNED http://www.wned.org will be sponsoring and they will have
good seats to offer, the Rogers Center has the first six rows blocked for them. It looks like they will not start their
on-air promotion until their next pledge drive in March. However the tickets will be quite a bit more expensive than
last year. Last year seats in the front rows were $500.00 for two.
The telephone number to reach Bree from WNED is 1-800-678-1873, I'm not sure what her hours are. She always
seems willing to give out any information that she has.
Several fans asked me if there will be a second concert. At this time there is just one concert scheduled, but they do
have an option for a Friday night concert if the center mostly sells (out) on Saturday. The way they will set up the
hall it will hold about 33,000. The decision for a second concert will be made by the Rieu organization in April or
May. I heard they can't do Sunday since another group will be using the facilities. Here is the map for the concert so
kindly sent to me by Herb.

Rieu wants to perform with as decor a 'Sissi palace that can be disassembled'.
The Waltz king of Maastricht Andre Rieu has big plans for the future.
He wants to organize Mega performances, with as decor the famous Palace Schonbrunn in Vienna. "I can see us
play in football stadiums for 50.000 people, with as background the magical palace from Sissi. It is going to be
gigantic, with measurements of 420 feet wide and 102 feet high", according to the violinist and orchestra leader.
Last year during a performance at the real Palace Schonbrunn in Vienna, thousands of people moved and danced to
the music of the performer of the popular classical works.
Rieu also wants to tour in Australia and South-America. Last year he performed in North-America, and for 2007
there are four tours planned in the US and Canada.
The plans are to built a Vienna in Rogers Center in Toronto next year with the huge Sissi palace as decor.
The Toronto Rogers Center (formerly the Skydome) is huge. The roof open on this picture, is closed in winter time.
Andre plans to use most of the Center and I heard a quote of 33.000 people. If it sell out there is a possibility or a
second concert on Friday evening. I heard that the Dome will be used for another purpose on Sunday. For official
information always check Andre site.
http://www.rogerscentre.com/ will get you to the Venue.
For those of you interested in going. The hotel the Renaissance is right next to the Venue and you can walk to the
concert. Very convenient, last year Andre and the JSO also stayed at the Hotel. The downside is that the Hotel in
pretty expensive. http://marriott.com/property/propertypage/yyzbr

They will divide the floor of the Hall in
8 sections. We think the red
rectangles will be the ice skating rinks.
The circles will be the two fountains.
The red rectangle in the back will be
where the ballet will dance and the
green rectangle is the stage.
The light gray half circle will be the
Palace decor. The decor will be 420
feet wide and 102 feet high.
I think the dancers will be at a higher
level like in Vienna. In Vienna the
stage was open in the back so you
could see the Palace. The dancers
danced in the beautiful ball room in the
palace just behind the stage and
dancers also dance on the balcony. I
think their will be an elevated dance
floor for the dancers. But I am
speculating looking at the map, having
been at the concert in Vienna and from
the article in the Dutch paper.
However he is going to do it, it will be
spectacular.
